History has shown that students who participate in extracurricular activities improve academics, adjust socially, and enjoy school more. Participation in extracurricular activities such as athletics, the arts, and band is highly encouraged.

What is a club?  A club is an opportunity for students to engage with PHMS. Clubs meet before or after school to participate in activities that enhance student lives and support the mission and vision of PHMS. Clubs are open to all students, have no or low fees, and are open for drop-in style attendance. We offer two types of clubs:

Corporation Sponsored Clubs: These clubs are annually sponsored by the Corporation.

Student Interest Clubs: Pendleton Heights Middle School can provide a safe place for students to meet and discuss their similar interests under the supervision of staff volunteers within the school. Meetings and activities organized by club members outside of the school are not sanctioned or monitored by PHMS.

What is an academic team?  An academic team is similar to a sport where team members participate in academic practices and compete against other Indiana schools. Academic teams often require payment of a fee. Some have a tryout, while others do not. Team members are expected to attend all practices and competitions.

How do I propose a new club?

If you would like to propose a club, you will need the following:

1. Each club must have a staff sponsor

2. Each year the proposal form must be submitted for approval.  For second semester 2022, the form is due February 4th, 2022.
